Kansas City Sump Pump Installation: Gordon Energy has been the #1 sump pump installer in Kansas City for years. We install sump pumps for the majority of the home builders in the Kansas City area. We install over 2,000 sump pumps every year. There is a good chance we might have even installed yours when your house was built. Sump Pumps are mechanical devices and all mechanical devices will eventually fail, just like a hair dryer or coffee pot. If your hair dryer fails, you have a bad hair day. If your coffee pot fails, you drive to Starbucks. If your sump pump fails, what will that do to you? You should consider how often your sump pump runs and what the risk is when your sump pump fails, a potential flooded basement.

We recommend that you replace your sump pump every 5 years on average. Gordon Energy can replace your sump pump with our energy efficient Little Giant ES-33. You might consider having us install a 2nd sump pump in a “piggy back” setup. This 2nd sump pump will protect you in the case of a mechanical failure of the primary sump pump or if the level of incoming water exceeds the capacity of the 1st sump pump. Two sump pumps are better than one! This however will not protect you in the case of a power outage. Our best recommendation for homeowners that have a high risk basement is with our StormPro 2100 battery backup sump pump. This battery backup sump pump will help protect you in the case of a power outage, mechanical failure, or if the primary sump pump becomes overwhelmed.

We use our Little Giant ES33D sump pump for most installs. At 2400 gallons per hour at 10’ head it has plenty of capacity for all, but the most extreme situations. It has an internal float so there are no moving parts such as a float that can get stuck. It is also capable of pumping 3/8” solids such as small dirt & gravel that may enter the draintile system. It is also very efficient by drawing only 5.0 full load amps. Much lower than the industry average. (more specs on this pump)

For extreme situations where you need very high pumping capacities our Little Giant ES40 should be able to handle it. It will pump 3600 gallons per hour at 10’ of head. It is the bigger brother of the ES33D so it has many of the same features. It uses the same internal float, is energy efficient and can handle solids up to 2”. (more specs on this pump)
