FOUNDATION CRACK REPAIR

Foundation Crack All concrete cracks and when a crack develops in your basement wall that may lead to a water leak. Depending on the situation crack repairs may need to be made from the inside or the outside of your basement, or both.We have many products at our disposal for repairing a basement crack. One of our experts can diagnose your problem and recommend the best product for your specific needs. Often time crack repairs are needed near the house closing time or shortly after the homeowner has moved in We of course have next day service and understand the significance of getting the job done right and quickly and easing homeowner concerns. If the homeowner is present we always discuss with them that cracks are a natural part of the concrete settling process. We will convey to the homeowners that this should not be perceived as a quality concern with their new home. Below are some of our common products & services.

  • Hydrofoam Polyurethane Crack Injection
Our repair of choice for cracks is an injection from the inside with a flexible Polyurethane product. We use a product manufactured by the company Polygem, Inc. called Hydrofoam. The advantage to the flexible material is that if your wall and the crack continue to move, this product will move with it up to 1/16” . We have a 2 year warranty on all Hydrofoam crack injections.
  • Epoxy Injections
Epoxy adds strength to your wall. Often times epoxy will be recommended by a structural engineer. We use the Polygem Maximum Penetrating Injection Epoxy # 1001. This type of epoxy comes in 4 different viscosities depending on the width of the crack.
  • Outside Crack Repairs
We can repair the crack from the outside with several different available products that would depend on the situation. We first expose the crack and clean the wall. We then seal the crack with Tremco’s TremProof 201/60 heavy duty waterproofing. It is a liquid that dries to a 60 mil sheet of rubber. We also will use a peel and stick waterproofing membrane such as Bituthene 3000 or Polyguard 650 Membrane. Once the crack is successfully sealed we need to insure good drainage around the crack. We will fill the excavation cavity with gravel and a draintile pipe allowing drainage to your footing & draintile system. (if the home has a drain tile system)

“Our lot had serious drainage issues. We contracted with another drainage installer; their solution did not resolve the problem. A neighbor recommended Gordon Energy & Drainage to us. They designed and installed a system that solved the drainage problem. We highly recommend their services. Randy and his crew are the best.” read more
